Knowledge sharing across the business is something we actively encourage at Inter Scientific, with a member of our team hosting a knowledge sharing session in their area of expertise every Friday to round off the working week.
This week our Regulatory Affairs Associate, Sreelakshmi Sreekumar, shared some examples of the work she does based on population modelling and why we perform this.
A population model is a type of mathematical model that is applied to the study of population dynamics. It is used to assess and forecast the effect of ENDS products on population health to support PreMarket Tobacco Applications.
The work we do in this area gives our clients a scientific indication on how their products affect various population health parameters in a range of different scenarios, to understand the possible effects of using a given product.
This information is required for regulation in order to predict the safety of a product and its impact on public health.
We can also use population modelling to help predict the health of future populations under different scenarios.
It can help provide benchmark product information for e-cigarettes and e-liquids and provide information regarding public health.
In summary, population modeling is a useful tool not only to comply with regulations, but also to understand the potential impact of a product on your customers and the wider public.
