Our Service Offering

PRODUCT INFORMATION FILE (PIF)

The Product Information File (PIF) is a set of documents which contains all of the information required to support the regulatory compliance of the cosmetic product and is held by the RP.


Included in the PIF is the ingredients, packaging information, manufacturing process, labelling and CPSR. Any information required to substantiate product claims is also held within the PIF.

COSMETIC PRODUCT SAFETY REPORT (CPSR)

A Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) is required for all cosmetic products notified in the UK and EU which is completed by a qualified person.


The CPSR must objectively conclude that the product is safe and in conformity with regulation before the product can be notified and placed on the market.

RESPONSIBLE PERSON (RP)

A Responsible Person (RP) is required both in the UK and EU for cosmetic products whose manufacturer is based outside of the jurisdiction where the product is intended to be sold. The RP must be based in the UK for UK cosmetic products, and in the EU for EU cosmetic products and must be agreed in writing.


The purpose of the RP is to ensure legal compliance of the cosmetic product and to ensure their safety.
