Our participation in regulatory industry research and regulation
Dec 22, 2020

As a company which hugely values education and sharing knowledge, we make sure that we’re making a positive impact on the regulatory industry by participating in industry research and testing and lending our skills and experience to reputable organisations such as the British Standards Institution.

What we do

We’re lucky to live in a world where it seems that things are constantly improving and innovating. As new technology develops, new regulation follows in order to ensure that products are in the interest of public health and consumer safety, particularly in the nicotine and pharmaceutical industries.

We work with organisations such as BSI by sharing our research, performing research on their behalf and contributing to discussions and panels in order to identify potential risks to public health and safety, and how they can be regulated

Why we participate in regulatory industry research

As mentioned above, we value education and sharing knowledge, so we’re enthusiastic about contributing in any way that we can.

Ethics is another of our values. After all, scientific regulatory affairs are underpinned by the ethical approach of the scientists and professionals working in this field. Therefore, helping to research, test and implement new standards, specifications and regulations means that we are able to uphold our ethical approach to science, regulation and compliance.

Our work in this area also means that we are prepared for new regulations when they come into place and so can support our clients in ensuring that their products comply.

Notable research

Our CEO, David Lawson, has recently been involved in the creation of PAS 8850:2020 , a specification which sets baseline standards for the “tobacco, additives, and materials used in the manufacture” of heated tobacco products.

In summary, we don’t have to participate in industry research, but we choose to – because it’s in the interests of our team, the public and of course, our clients.
