At Inter Scientific, we are committed to reducing our impact on the planet as much as possible, and every decision we make considers the potential environmental consequences. We continuously review our processes to ensure that we are acting in the most environmentally responsible manner and improve where possible, going as far as to gain certification ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management to keep striving towards being a more efficient company.

Here are just a few of the actions we’re taking to reduce our impact on the planet.

We strive to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible, and our office is no different. Our furniture is either upcycled or second-hand and we make the eco-conscious choice where possible, down to using organic, compostable coffee pods!

This year, along with the rest of the world, our team has been working remotely more than ever due to the coronavirus pandemic. As we creep closer to the colder autumn and winter months, we’ve made the decision for our entire team to work from home every Friday in order to reduce our energy consumption from heating and lighting the office as much as is required during winter.

This means that our office does not use electricity for almost half of the week, saving a huge amount of energy. We also ensure that lights and other electrical appliances are turned off when not in use to keep our consumption to a minimum.

With incredible organisational and productivity technology now available, it’s easier than ever to have an almost completely paperless office. By only printing when necessary, we save a lot of trees, water and energy, all of which are used in huge amounts to produce paper, not to mention the waste produced as part of the manufacturing process.

We only print when absolutely necessary, and make use of the technology available to us to share, sign and store documents without ever having a paper copy to hand.

Preserving the environment is at the core of our business, and we continue to strive to improve our practices and reduce our carbon footprint.
