The impact of illegal vape products on consumers and the legitimate vape industry

Public perception of legitimate vape products is being tarnished by the influx of unregistered products on the UK market which pose a risk to both consumer safety.

Unregistered vape products are difficult for the public to identify, as they are often sold side-by-side with legal, registered products.

Since products that have not undergone registration have not been tested to meet the regulatory requirements, the public cannot be assured that they meet the same standards as legal e-cigarettes.

Regrettably, such illegal products are infiltrating the market, undermining the creditability of legitimate manufacturers and eroding consumer trust.

We’ve been working with the media and Trading Standards to highlight the significant risks these illegal products present to consumers, and how compliance testing plays a pivotal role in protecting both consumer safety and the integrity of the legitimate vape industry.
